USA Sevens Rugby 2008 Tournament

2/09/08 - 2/10/08 - San Diego is thrilled to welcome back the USA Sevens tournament, the largest rugby event in North America. After huge success in 2007, the 2008 tournament promises to be one not to be missed!
Not familiar with rugby or this format of play? No worries! The tournament is enjoyed by one and all: rugby veterans as well as those new to this incredible sport. Played on the same size field as traditional 15 a-side rugby, sevens rugby is played with only seven players per team. In addition to a keen understanding of how the game is played, pure speed and athleticism are the foundation for the sevens rugby standout. The game is played with non-stop action, thrilling attacks and game saving tackles.
The 2008 tournament will feature teams from 16 countries, playing in 44 exhilerating games. Set within San Diego's beautiful Petco Park, the game experience is amplified by the International Fan Festival. The Festival will engage attendees in a variety of activities and fare.
